Started as a kidswear label (after she had her first child)by Merlin, in June 2017, with a handful of fabrics and just a couple of styles. Self taught pattern maker with an eye for design, she'd been poring over Vogue magazine from the time she was ten. It came a full circle when Essika Clothing was featured in Vogue magazine in 2020! It was love at first sight, when she laid eyes on some natural indigo handloom fabrics for the first time at a local artisan fair. The designs just naturally flowed from there. Fabric is the hero in our designs. Essika Clothing now makes women's wear, men's wear and of course for kids.

All our styles are made with the finest cotton or linen and it only gets better with each wash. We make our styles in house in our workshop in Indiranagar, Bangalore. We are entirely women run and we painstakingly make each piece to order. If there is a stitch that looks out of place, we undo it and do it again. We are so proud of our quality of tailoring. It is a labor of love and you'll feel it when you try our products.
